One often hidden issue can create a disconnect between the reader and your character—the failure to present cause-effect (or motivation-reaction) sequences in chronological order.
These sequences can have multiple parts, including the character's intentional actions, involuntary reactions, words, thoughts, etc. So, what is the correct sequence for all this? We’ll discuss that in this week's coaching session, along with examples and revisions.
