Hey, storyteller!
If you're planning to pursue traditional publication—whether that's a book contract or a spot for your short story in a magazine or anthology—the story isn't the only thing you'll need to write well.
Every literary agent, publishing house, and magazine or anthology editor has a set of specific requirements, called submission guidelines, which you must fulfill if you want them to consider your story for publication. There is one thing they all want, no matter what you're trying to publish…a query letter.
If this letter fails to impress, the editor or agent may never even look at your story, so learning to write one well is crucial. In this week's writer coaching session, we'll discuss how to craft a quality query letter.
